Huldah was the youngest child of William and Rose (Farley) Raven and the second of our Raven line who was a Maine native. I haven't seen her birth date and don't know exactly when she was born, though. I haven't found her birth record and she didn't live long enough to be on the 1900 census, which listed birth months and years.
The earliest record I can find that documents her existence is the 1870 Census where she was 1 year old and living in Mapleton, Maine. We do get the unusual benefit of having "Washburn Me" spelled out in the birth column. Census records generally just give you the birth state in that field. See line 29 in the image below:
Where Huldah was in 1880 is a mystery to me. I can't find a record of her anywhere in the 1880 census. She was only 11, so she should've still been living with somebody, but I can't find her on her parents' or any of her older siblings' census records.
We do have a photo of her and her big brother, John, though, from around 1882:
On 22 May 1887, Huldah married Clarence Lester Greenleaf in Washburn, Maine, per this town clerk's record:
When they married, Huldah appears to have already been pregnant, as she gave birth to their first child, Lulu Blanche Greenleaf, on 7 October 1887 in Washburn. Unfortunately, Lulu passed away on 10 March 1888 at 5 months old. However, I can find no death record or any other original source. Someone put that up on Find A Grave, but there's no source given and there's not even a photo of the gravestone.
Their second child, Charles E. Greenleaf, would also perish at a young age. He was born in Washburn on 19 April 1889 and died on 20 November 1891 at 2 and a half. As with Lulu, that came from Find A Grave, and there are no sources that I've seen yet.
Fred Benjamin Greenleaf was born to Clarence and Huldah on 3 November 1891 in Washburn. He would lose his mother 2 and a half years later and likely grew up with no memory of her.
Huldah Greenleaf passed away on 14 May 1894 and I'm fairly certain it was in Washburn because news of her passing was published in the Washburn news section of the local paper, she appears to have died at home and Clarence was living in Washburn within just a few years before and after her death.
