George Henry Carson was the fourth child born to George and Selena Carson on 1 October 1882 in Mapleton, Maine. George has a birth record, but it's not an original, having been submitted in 1942 when he was 60 years old.

Birth Record — George Henry Carson

George's first appearance on the census was in 1900. By this time, his parents had divorced and his mother Selena was living in Woodland, Maine. George was living in Mapleton with his older brother, Frank, and younger brother, Harry. See lines 88–90 in the image below:

By 1910, George had followed his mother south to Thorndike, Maine. The 1910 census shows 27-year-old George living with his mother, his step-father, and three of his Merry half-siblings. See lines 2–7 in the image below:

Shortly thereafter, George married Addie Gordon on 2 July 1910 in Brooks, Maine. Their marriage record follows:

Here is a blurb about George and Addie's nuptials in the Republican Journal:

George and Addie had three children in rapid succession. Ansel George in 1911, Mabel Addie in 1912, and Leroy Eslie in 1913. After a bit of a break, Kenneth Edward was born in 1919.

The 1920 census shows the family of six living in Belfast, Maine, along with Addie's brother, Charles M. Gordon. The family was spread across two different pages in the census. See lines 47–50 in the following image and lines 51–53 in the one below that one:

Two more children would be born in the 1920s: Doris Irene in 1922, and Florence May in 1924.

Tragically, Addie passed away just 15 days after giving birth to Florence. George was a widower with six children ranging in age from 2 weeks to 13 years old.

On 29 August 1929, George remarried. He and Lottie (Nickerson) Archer were wed in Albion, Maine. Lottie had divorced Harold Archer in 1927 and had two daughters, Alice and Ada. Here's a newspaper listing of Albion marriages that I've clipped to show George and Lottie at the bottom:

The 1930 census shows George living in Thorndike again, along with Lottie, his six children and Lottie's two daughters. See lines 77–86 in the image below:

George and Lottie's children started moving out on their own in the 1930s. Ansel married in 1932, Mabel in 1933, Ada in 1937, and Kenneth in 1938.

I am not sure where Alice was living in 1940, but George and Lottie, and children Leroy, Doris and Florence were in Thorndike. See lines 9–13 in the image below:

In the 1940's the rest of George and Lottie's children got married and started their own families: Leroy in 1942, Florence and Doris (both in April 1943) and Alice in June 1943.

By 1950, George and Lottie were empty-nesters living in Thorndike. See lines 14 and 15 in the image below:

Here's a photo of George. I have no idea when it was taken, but I would guess it was the 1950's.
