Maybell Fife Anderson was born in Oxbow Plantation, Maine on 22 April 1877 to a pair of immigrants. Her father, James Anderson, was born in Scotland and her mother, Elizabeth (Hendry) Anderson, was a native of Canada. Maybell's granddaughter, Jean (Willard) Young believes that Maybell's middle name, "Fife", was chosen after the area of Scotland with the same name.

The 1880 census from Oxbow shows the large Anderson family (plus a boarder) on lines 1–11 in the image below:

On 7 January 1900, Maybell married Warren Elwin Willard, who was also of Oxbow Plantation:

The newlyweds were living in Oxbow Plantation with Maybell's parents on the 1900 census. See lines 13–17 for the Andersons and the Willards:

On 6 September 1900, Maybell gave birth to their first child, Edna C. Willard in Oxbow Plantation. Unfortunately, Edna passed away at just 3 months old on 13 December 1900.

The 1910 census showed Maybell and Warren living on the Main Road in Oxbow Plantation. See lines 71 and 72 below:

On 22 April 1912, more than 11 years since Edna's birth, Maybell gave birth to twins, Lois Eliza and Louis Anderson Willard. Louis would later change the spelling of his name to "Lewis."

Here's a photo of Lois, Warren, Lewis, and Maybell, that I would guess was taken in 1913:

In 1920, the Willard family was listed on lines 13–16 in the Oxbow Plantation census. They also had a couple of hired hands living on the farm:

In 1930, the family was on the Oxbow Plantation census yet again. See lines 40–43 in the image below:

In 1938, there were foreclosure notices for the Willards farm posted in the Presque Isle newspaper:

I am not certain, but it looks like they managed to keep their home, because the 1940 census says that they were living on a farm in Oxbow Plantation that they owned and was valued at $5,000. The twins, now in their late 20's, were employed but still living with their parents, per lines 31–34 below:

Warren passed away 18 November 1945 at the age of 70. Maybell followed the next year on 4 September 1946 at the age of 69. Her obituary:

Maybell and Warren are buried together in Swett Cemetery in Oxbow.
